Lockers in train station in Paris?

Hi all,

I'm so excited about my trip to Paris in August. However, I've got a problem here, as I will be reaching Paris at about 9am, and will not be able to check in into the hotel at such a time. Does anyone know of any locker services in any train/metro station? preferably near Opera?

Thanks for your help!

Most all hotels will allow you to check-in early. If you're room isn't ready yet they will hold your bag for you. But the major train stations in Paris have a luggage hold counter...there are no lockers.

Hi there, thanks for your help... I've checked with the hotel that I'll be staying at, and they will hold luggages at EUR8/bag.

Luggages hold counter... pardon my ignorance, but what does that mean?

Thank you.

Vivian: I have never heard of a hotel charging a guest to hold luggage until check-in time. Are you sure your question was understood? Anyway, if that's what they do you have no choice.

Luggage hold counter just means a "left-luggage" location, where an employee takes your baggage, gives you a receipt, charges you a lot of money, and you retrieve it at your convenience.

From parisinfo.com, the official Paris Tourist Office site:

Gare du Nord has a left-luggage office.

Gare de l'Est, Gare de Lyon, and Gare Montparnasse have lockers.

Gare d'Austerlitz has both a left-luggage office and lockers.

Gare de Bercy and Gare St-Lazare do not have any left-luggage facilities.

Hey Tim and Norm,

Thanks for your help! Yup, I've checked with the hotel personal, and they are charging for the luggages.

Instead, since I'll be visiting the Louvre in the morning, I've decided to leave the backpacks with the Lourve, continue to visit other museums, and collect it by 5.30pm (which is the latest time I can collect my bagpacks)
