This is our first time to Europe and we will be backpacking. Are the train stations large enough to store our packs while we tour around? What is the charge for the lockers? We will need them in Florence, Italy, Zurich, Switzerland, and Vienna Austria.

don't worry about the size if it's not too terrible - you can't backpack with that anyways. many train stations have attendents watch your bag so size don't matter that much.
