Can anyone give me the EXACT location of the place (ticket office) to report to pick up reserved tickets for the Font de Gaume? I have google maps and it appears to be on or near d47 near the village of Les Eyzles de Tayac. But, I cannot tell if it is on or off of D47. I cannot tell if it is on Avenue de Grottes or Avenue de la Forge - both parts of D47. It might even be closer to town, near the junction of D706. Also, does anyone know about the security/property safety of the parking area? If we are short of time would it be advisable to leave luggage in the car rather than checking into our hotel first? Is there an office where one can leave luggage?

Look at google maps in satellite view: an unnamed road hits the D-47. On one side of this road it's called Ave de la Forge, on the other Ave de Grottes.
Just to the east ( 300 feet to the right) of the unnamed road is what looks like a path. This is the path from the ticket place / souvenir shop to the cave itself.
The shop is the long building paralleling the road with a red roof. That's where you get your tickets -- inside on the left. The parking lot is right there as well and is completely safe, this is France for pete's sake.

I visited the cave last October and it is right on D47 less than a mile out of Les Eyzies. It is easy to find and is on the right side of the road as you drive toward Sarlat. It is wonderful! The ticket office is combined with a gift shop and I don't remember seeing anyplace that would be good to leave luggage there. I would think the luggage would be safe in the car.
