We want to go to Barcelona, Spain and also the town where Alhambra is. There are 2 of us and want to go for 2 weeks and live VERY CHEAPLY in monasteries with a private room if possible. When- May 2008

This is a very specific question and I suspect few know the answer. I have no idea whether you can do that - I have read about monastery accomm in Italy but not Spain. What research have you done - have you googled 'monastery accomm spain' or similar, read guidebooks etc. The town the Alhambra is in is Granada.

As an earlier poster mentioned, perhaps do a "google" search on the internet for "monasteries Spain accommodation," or something similar, to see what's available. You may find that much of the information on Spanish monasteries is, naturally, in Spanish. If you're not committed to staying in monasteries, check out sites like hostels.com for "hostals." These are small hotels with comfortable accommodations (many including ensuite bathrooms) that are very inexpensive.
