Hi. Anyone know of online concert listings for Paris (we'll be there with our teen son beginning July 8 2011). I've found plenty of sites for classical and jazz, but trouble finding anything for the youngster.
Thanks!
So your son doesn't want to see Liza Minelli when she's here ;) One place to search is www.fnacspectacles.com which is a ticket broker. Another is www.infoconcer.com which will allow you to search by department (Paris is 75) and genre. A lot of big English-speaking acts come to Paris on their world tours, so hopefully you'll be able to find something for him. Or you can check out one of the French artists for something different.
Dina: He's not too keen on accompanying his mom to the Paris Opera Ballet, either. :-) Thanks for the tips, I'll check them out.
I'm not 100% positive about Paris, but in areas of Europe I know much better (Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria), you will usually see posters or signs everywhere announcing concerts, festivals or street parties. Just keep your eyes open when you arrive and I'm sure you'll see something advertised.
Tom - the Metro exits are littered with posters, but for the big name concerts (ie Prince, Brittney Spears, etc. the tickets are sold in advance. If you just want to go to a concert, you can wait until you arrive to see what's going on. But the "big ticket" headliners are best booked in advance. And I realize I made a typo in my earlier message. It's www.infoconcert.com I left off the "t".
Go online to timeout.com. Current music guides for many cities, including Paris, too. There's also the weekly Pariscope.
www.ticketnet.fr is a good site for the latest tickets for the biggest stars, almost all big acts are sold from this site
