I am planning a trip to Portugal, Spain and France this year. I am flying in and out of Paris. I plan to fly to Paris from Lisbon on the day I arrive in Europe and start my travels. I am stuck trying to find a decent way to get myself to Torrevieja Spain from Lisbon. I prefer to drive, but that is looking at $800+ for 2 days. I don't want to do train because it is 12 hours. I looked at flying to Alicante, but that again is about $475 (there is 2 of us traveling). Does anyone have any ideas??? Thank you.
Ali...if you can, change your travel plans. Fly Paris-Madrid, then rent a car there. You can either tour into Portugal and return to Madrid, or keep the car for Torrevieja, then back to Madrid to head back to Paris. Lisbon has poor travel connections with Spain (except for the main highway), so avoid using that as your southern base. A car rental company we use in Spain is carjet.co.uk (which includes CDW). For Paris-Madrid, check out Iberia, vueling, easyjet, Air Europa, and, as a last resort, Ryanair (because they leave from Paris Beauvais, about 50 miles outside Paris). For Madrid-Alicante, Iberia has a sale on...for example, mid-August one-way tickets are going for as low as $5 U-S (about $39 with all taxes, etc.)
