I will be in Lisbon, Portugal on my own for a week before heading to the Azore Islands. Do you have any recommendations for places to eat where a solo traveler would feel comfortable? Restaurants, cafes, sandwiches, take-out, etc. Thank you,

Most any place. I never felt odd. My tips on solo dining are to have a book with you to read while you wait for your food. Or if you keep a journal of your travels that's a good time to write in it. I loved the roast chicken places - recommended in RS and just about every other guidebook. Very casual so great for a solo diner. And definitely don't miss the pastry shop in Belem for the Pastis de Belem.
