Wife and I are planning to visit Lisbon for 4 days. Been there once but stayed close to the old 'Expo' site. Not too convenient to check the sights. Does anybody have any recommendation of accomodations (2* at least) that's close to the heart of the city?

Hotel Britania is where I stayed a couple of years ago. Great location. Mid price. Lots of restaurants used by locals nearby.Be sure to go to the Gulbenkian museum where there is an astonishing collection of Lalique jewellery.
We stayed at Hotel Florescente. On a pedestrian street near Ave Liberdade & within walking distance to Alfama district, many sites, restaurants, etc. Listed in Rick's book.
My husband and I stayed in Sintra, very close to Lisbon, Christmas of 2007. We rented a car and we stayed at the Pensao Residential in Sintra. It was very nice, good prices, family owned.
