DO you suggest renting a car to get from Lisbon to Fatima?
I've only driven and can't picture a railroad station in Fatima, but have seen bunches of buses (some appeared to be tours and others a scheduled service). I have no idea of the schedule or cost........ So much for the preface. Once you get out of Lisbon's core area, Fatima is an easy hour drive on a freeway. Two hours is enough to see everything there. To make the day really memorable and wring the most out of the cost of a one-day car rental, make a swing out to Peniche and drive the little coastal streets that ring the peninsula. Ten or fifteen miles before Peniche is a really good castle at Obidos. The drive back along this route will only take a couple of hours, leaving you plenty of time to make stops.
Just curious - is this for a day trip only or are you continuing your travels from Fatima. The recommendation might be different depending on your plans.
