My husband and I are planning a trip to Barcelona (our 1st time) in June. To fully enjoy the city and surrounding area, would it be best to spend 4 days or 7 days?

Unless you are planing on exploring some of the outlying cities (e.g. Tarragona and Gerona), four days should be more than sufficient. On the other hand, there is something to be said for spending a week on a beach overlooking the Mediterranean.

I was there for 4 days and it was perfect. We didn't rush it either.
