legoland Germany form Zurich by rail--doable?

How easy is it to get to Legoland in Germany by rail from Zurich? It looks like impossible day trip--but worth it for an overnight with 3 kids 9,9 12 prior to the start of our Sw/Italy trip? thanks, Elaine

According to the Swiss Rail site (http://rail.ch) it's a four hour journey to Günzburg with three changes. At Günzburg station you can catch a shuttle bus to the park.

Hi Elaine! I have never done Legoland in Germany, but as a kid I went to Legoland, CA, and had a blast. It was a fun experience. As a 9 year old, it was so neat. I think your kids might enjoy it, especially if they love Legos. Good luck!

The most convenient way of doing this would be to take the ICE train from Zurich to Stuttgart (direct high speed train) and then rent a car and drive down the freeway to the park. The drive would be in the 60 to 90 mins range and is 95% all freeway, a very easy drive.
