How much time should we allow to retrieve left luggage at Berlin Hbf? We are going to be leaving on a night train we can't miss so need time to collect the stuff we'll be leaving for a short trip to Dresden. Thanks.

Linda, I bet Andreas can help you plan your luggage retrieval. In the "Transportation" section of this Travelers' Helpline look for the item with heading "Happy 400th Birthday, Hofbräuhaus!" Andreas posted it. I suggest you use the "send private message" feature and ask him your question. He is very helpful and knows how to search for assistance, if need be.
