I loaned out my RS Brussels/Bruges book and probably won't get it back before I leave next week. Does anyone know if there are lockers or other left luggage arrangements at or near this train station?
Layni, this restaurant is just a short walk out of the Markt. The food was great and very reasonable. De Bottelier, on Sint-Jakobsstraat 63 http://www.debottelier.com/
Thanks, James! I have a sneaky suspicion I may feel the same way about Brussels, which makes my plan perfect (mwah-hah-hah)- we are landing in Brussels about 9:00 AM & plan to store the luggage, do a walking tour of the "high" points, have lunch on the Grand Place, & take a train to Bruges where we are staying for 3 nights. If any of my companions feel the need to see more of Brussels (or if I change my mind) it's a one hour train journey back.
I'd be glad to hear any recs- restaurants, experiences, etc, you want to share- thank you!
Well, I'll butt in with a restaurant recommendation... if you want to spend A LOT of money. Bring some nice clothes and splurge on a full course meal at De Karmeliet. It has the highest rating from Michelin, and believe me, you really can tasted the 3 star difference.
Thanks, gentlemen, for the recommendations! I'll post experiences there when I return. Tom, I regret that I will have to skip the 3 star experience this time, as neither my budget nor my wardrobe can handle it. I'll keep it in mind for the next time, though.
