Jerry, thanks for the recognition. No favorite German brew. I like to drink whatever is local. I've never been disappointed. I did particularly like a beer that I tried in Freilassing. I forget the name, but it was from Traunstein. Funny, at home I doubt that I drink much more than one or maybe two 6-packs a year. In Germany I'll ofter have 1½ liter a day. As for number of posts, I've been posting here for about 12 years, since before they started counting. I really should thank everyone that asks the same basic questions again and again.

No wonder, Lee, that you drink more beer in Germany than here in the US. The same is valid for me. When I am in Germany or Czech Rep. I also drink more. I think it's because there is a "beer" and Beer.

I really should thank everyone that asks the same basic questions again and again. Yeah there are many a redundant questions that's for sure. Ilja, I agree 100%. An Augustiner Helles in one of Munich's beer gardens is about 100X more flavorful, refreshing than a Bud. And it doesn't hurt that the gal delivering the beer is dressed in one of those "revealing" costumes. Ich habe ein anderes ein George.

Well, JERRY, there is also really good Budweiser. But that one is brewed in Budweis (Ceske Budejovice) in the Czech Republic.

I've been to Prague and can't say enough about their beer. Great tasting also.

Lee is great! My family returned from our Germany trip last Saturday - my favorite beer was a Weiss Beer and husband was the Rauche (smoke) beer. 12 year old loves coca-cola made with real sugar. Best town for beer was Bamberg. Best place - some beer garden up on a hill above town. We visited Wurzburg, Bamberg, Nurnberg, Salzburg (Austria) and Munich. Only one night in Munich wasn't enough (need just one more) so, if all goes well we'll return December 21st before heading south to Italy for Christmas - investigating trains now. My son really wants to take a night train, Husband wants one more night in Munich, and I want to go to iTaly for Christmas .... and SuperSaver FF fare was available and I had the miles so away we go!
