Leaving Paris to go to Lausanne. What train station do I leave from to get to Lausanne how long will it take and are there any seats this will be happening in Sept.

You can only purchase ticket 90 days from departure. The TGV train departs from Gare De Lyon and take about 3.5 hours. Purchase tickets and check schedules at http://tgv-europe.com. Tell the site that you live in the UK so you don't get redirected to Rail Europe. The schedules for Sept. probably aren't posted yet, but just pick sooner random date to see the departures. The schedule won't change much from now till Sept.

The train you will be traveling on will be a French TGV. It will have seats because it must be reserved ahead of time and once all the seats are gone no more will be sold. You won't have to stand up.
