Leaving Luggage in Train station on way to Orly

Hello, This is actually a two part question: 1) how to get from Orly Airport using the Metro. It looks like you take Line B south to the end, and then there is some type of extension you have to transfer onto to actually get to Orly. Is that correct? And does it matter which airline you are heading to in Orly? (Our map appears to show an Orly Ouest and an Orly Sud.) 2) We hope to pack up and leave our apartment on our last day, leave the luggage in a train station, head out to Versaille and then retrieve the luggage and go to Orly. Is leaving bags in a train station a good or bad idea? Which station is set up for this?
If this is a bad idea, do you have a better idea? Thanks!

From central Paris the fastest way to get to Orly is to take the RER B to Antony and the driverless Orlyval shuttle train from there to the airport. The Orlyval stops at both terminals. Yes, you need to know from which terminal your plane will depart. For your plan the best train stations to use for luggage storage are either Gare Montparnasse or Gare d'Austerlitz. However, there is free left luggage service at Versailles. If you use that service, you won't have to return to central Paris on your way to Orly. Instead, take the RER C8 from Versailles-Chantiers to Massy-Palaiseau, the RER B from there to Antony, and the Orlyval to the airport.
