Leaving for Paris in a few hours - need advice on getting into town

We leave for the airport in a few hours and I'm still debating RER vs the Roissy bus (I think that's the right name). We're staying on the Rue de Richelieu, very close to the Louvre. We were originally planning to take the RER to the Les Halles station and walk from there. I recently saw where the Roissy bus drops off, though, and it seems closer (at the very least more direct) to walk from Opera. Which would you recommend? Is there a significant difference between the two? Thanks in advance!

We've always taken the RER. I would guess it's quicker, since it doesn't have to travel in traffic.

We take the RER. It is easy to find at CDG and as has been pointed out there are not traffic jams.

The bus will take forever but it is still a bit of a walk from the Opera. If you decide to use the RER, just be cautious in and around Les Halles. Just saying.....

Opera is 1.5km from the Louvre. The Palais Royal-Musee du Louvre metro station is only a few blocks from rue de Richelieu. Take the RER B from CDG to Chatelet-Les Halles. Walk through the connecting tunnels to the Chatelet metro station and take metro line 1 to Palais Royal-Musee du Louvre.
