My son, who will be visiting me in Paris this Fall, is an airplane "nut" and wants to visit the museum at Le Bourget Airport which is the original Paris airport (Lindberg landed here). I've looked at RER, metro and bus routes but wonder if anyone on this list has made the trip from central Paris and has a recommended route. Thanks!
There is a bus, No. 350, which goes to CDG and it stops right at the Musee de l'air et de l'espace. You can pick up the bus at the Gare du Nord and the museum is the 4th stop. It is an RATP bus so you can use the regular tickets but it may be 2 or 3 tickets for the journey, I don''t know. I take the bus to CDG and it costs 5 tickets. (Cheapest way to get to the airport short of having a friend drive you.)
Norma, can you give me an idea of how long it takes using the bus? I'm also wanting to squeeze in a visit to Le Bourget as I'm a HUGE aviation geek :-), but I have very limited time to do so (3-4 hours MAX including round-trip transportation from central Paris). Merci, Sarah
Well, let's see. It's the 4th stop after Gare du Nord on the way to CDG and I think it was well under 30 minutes, maybe 20 or less.
