We stayed at Hotel Oberland. It's right on the main street and has great views of the mountains with some rooms having views of Staubbach Falls. It has a very good restaurant also. I think this is the correct web address; if not, try hoteloberland.ch or do a search on google.

I recommend the Hotel Silberhorn. It's about 500 feet from the train station up a quiet street. Great dining room and breakfast. RS mentions the dining room in his book but not the hotel. It's probably a few Swiss Francs more than RS likes to spend. We stayed there this past early June and it was just great. So close to the train station and one of the gondolas up to Murren. You don't say when you are going. They are closed between 10/16 and 12/16 for shoulder season as are many places in the valley and upper villages. www.silberhorn.com

We stayed at the Valley Hostel for 6 nights and was VERY please. It is immaculate. There is also a kitchen. Easy walking distance from the train station.
