we are staying in bacharach germany from sat to tues in Sept. I'm interested in knowing if there is a local self laundramat where I can do my laundry on sat or sunday?

Of course there are laundry mats in Germany. They are called Waschsalons. It just seems that Bacharach doesn't have any. I would email your hotel and ask them what they recommend. I am sure you aren't the first person who needs to wash clothing. Perhaps one of the neighboring towns has one. When I Googled it, Ruedesheim kept coming up as the closest town with a laundry mat.

I can't say that I've ever seen a self-service laundromat in Germany. I've seen many laundries where you drop off your laundry then pick up the next day. And many hotels have laundry services that will pickup your laundry then return it the next day nicely folded.

ruth, Where are you staying in Bacharach? I'd suggest asking the staff at your Hotel, as I'm sure they will know the best option. Bacharach is somewhat of a small town, so I'd be surprised if they have a self-serve Laundromat. I've never noticed one, but wasn't really looking. Happy travels!

Ruth, This is a bit of a "long shot", but you might stop by Pension Lettie and have a chat with her. She does laundry for guests, and MAY be able to help if there are no other options. Doesn't hurt to ask! Malerwinkel may also offer laundry service of some sort. Good luck!
