I have not stayed there, but it's in a GREAT location and it's been well reviewed. Be sure to walk the 2 min. to the Cluny Museum of the Middle Ages, just around the corner and down the street.

Its a great area,, very central, and although I haven't stayed there I would the reviews are good, and the posters onanother forum I go on recommend it also. Its a budget/moderate choice, so don't expect luxury or huge rooms, but by every account it is clean and comfy.
I have stayed in the area many times, it is very convenient.

Thanks everyone for the input. I tried to research where i thought it made the most sense for what i wanted to see and do and don't mind something on the moderate side as i don't plan on doing much there but showering, sleeping etc.

We stayed there for two nights just last week and we loved it! We much preferred the Latin Quarter to the Eiffel Tower area that we had stayed in previously, as it had a more 'European' feel, and lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Both the Cluny and the Pantheon are nearly spitting distance, and Notre Dame & Luxembourg Gardens just a bit further. The hotel itself was very nice, the room a reasonably good size for Paris where the rooms run small, and the staff were all nice and were more than happy to make dinner reservations, print our boarding passes, etc. Can't comment on the breakfast as we didn't partake. The wi-fi worked perfectly and there's also a laptop available for guests to use. One thing to watch out for is that the elevator only goes up to the 5th floor (6th for us Americans), and we were on the 6th floor which necessitated climbing up one flight of spiral stairs to get to our room. If steps/spiral steps are a concern for you, request a room on the 5th floor or lower. Feel free to send me a PM if you have any other questions.

While I don't know the specific hotel (we stayed at Hotel Marignan for the family rooms) I can say that the location is excellent.
