Unexpected day trip to Paris next wk - never been there - traveling with daughter, so we don't need anything romantic. Suggestions for a Holiday Inn type hotel in central Paris/not expensive?

Half a step down from the Holiday Inns are the Ibis, which are found all over Paris. Ibis are clean, functional, good beds. Both chains are 3-star, but Ibis is a little more basic than Holiday Inn. Next up in the Accor hotels would be the Novotel, closer to the Holiday Inn.
