I will be traveling from Barcelona to Bordeaux. I am planning on spending three nights in bordeaux region. (any advice on what to do in that area?) I have an extra day and night to spend in the Languedoc region and I was hoping to get some input on where to stay and what to see there as well. I am completely overwhelmed, have been reading Ricks books and watching videos and cannot zero in on how to spend the few days that we have. Thank you!
Figueres (Museo Teatro Dali) can be a stop on the way to the French border. Collioure and Carcassonne would be good overnights on the way towards Bordeaux. Both are very pleasant for exploring in the evening. I'm very fond of Bergerac, just to the east of Bordeaux - there's a lovely B&B in the middle of the vineyards nearby:

Thank you so much for your reply. My guide book does not have any hotel recommendations in Bordeaux, do you have any suggestions??
Kathi - In Bordeaux, you might consider a walking tour, visiting the Sunday market, Cathedral St Andre, the public garden, dinner at La Tupina. And of course the wine bars and shops. Rick doesn't cover Bordeaux so you'll need another guidebook or other resource.
Hi Kathi, I believe that there's an All-Seasons that is reasonably priced, very close to the Bordeaux train station. Check the Accor hotels website, then comparison shop with other sites like booking.com
