Language Classes for 37-year-old in Spain

Hi all,

I am a 37-year-old woman and may have the fantastic opportunity to travel to Spain this fall and incorporate some language classes into the experience. Has anyone done this? I am wondering if there are cities that see more older students as opposed to the usual college age? I want to spend a week in Madrid and a week in either Sevilla or Barcelona. Then I can travel for about a week and see what I haven't seen. I know that there is lots to do in any major city, but if anyone has been, would there be enough to do to spend a week in Seville? Or would it be better to spend a week in Barcelona and then spend a few days in Seville, Granada, etc? Also I would love to hear just any general comments on language schools in Spain.

Thanks!!

Liz, I'd spend that week in Sevilla, a fantastic city. Barcelona was OK but, for me at least, nothing terribly special. It seems to be more a young person's city. From Sevilla, you are within easy reach of Toledo, Cordoba, Granada, Cadiz, Gibraltar, and the Costa del Sol....the Andalusian region is, IMO, the heart of Spain.

Thanks, Norm, for your reply. I don't know if I'd be able to travel much during that week, since I'd have classes during the day. Maybe a bus trip to somewhere an hour or less away, but probably not more than that (although it sounds like it would be a good jumping-off point for travel after the class ends). Sevilla does sound fantastic, but do you think there is enough to do there to fill a week's worth of late afternoons and evenings?
