The KONUS Card website says that the card is not good for "mountain railways." Does this mean that KONUS is NOT good for the Black Forest Railway (Schwarzwaldbahn) and the Hell Valley Railway (Hoellentalbahn)? Does anybody know? Thanks.
The Schwarzwaldbahn and Höllentalbahn are just normal routes of the national railway system, and are therefore covered by KONUS. A pdf map of the KONUS area with the associated lines: http://tinyurl.com/yzgdyde Bergbahn/mountain railways refers to stuff like rack-and-pinion or cable trains usually not connected with the general rail network.
I'm not sure where the Höllentalbahn is (ETA: found it, Freiburg to Titisee-Neustadt). Both Hölentalbahn and the Schwarzwaldbahn (Hausach to St. Georgen) are dashed purple lines indicating they are part of the Konus offer. So, I started wondering, just where are these "not included" mountain railways. I found one, I think, the Merkur Bergbahn outside of Baden-Baden.
