Kitchen appliances

On a recent trip to Spain, we rented apartments in both Madrid and Barcelona. (Madrid thru link on madridman.com and Barcelona from a rental agency in the UK)

Both apartments had new appliances in the kitchen...including small clothes washing machines and cooktops with 4 burners.

But neither apartment had an oven.

Is this the usual pattern? I never thought to ask before making reservations since I thought some sort of oven would be standard.

I noticed that a number of the apartments that I looked at in Paris also did not have an oven. When the apartment is used specifically as a vacation rental, I think you will sometimes find that the kitchen is not fully equipped.
