We will be in Amsterdam around the middle of July. Is it still a beautiful place to visit even after the 'bulb season'???
Keukenhof is only open to the public from 22 Mar to 20 May. So it won't be open in July:( Consider a day trip to Floriade instead.
Thanks. That takes care of that.
Note that no one can grow bulbs outdoors in July. Floriade will (guess on my part ... ) replace their bulb beds with annuals after May. That's not bad, it's just Mother Nature, with human gardeners helping out. Consider the Aalsmeer Flower Auction near Schiphol, if you love flowers. But it's a special interest, weekday morning attraction. Because we (and others here) found the Floriade plantings to be immature in April, you may well see a better Floriade than we did. But I cannot recommend going all the way across the Netherlands just to see the Floriade. On the other hand, if your destination is Cologne, The Rhine, or Moselle, etc., a stop at Floriade is justifiable.
