Does it pay to go to Keukenhof at other times of the year (that is, not during March, April or May)? We are planning a trip to Amsterdam, but have not settled on a time frame. Is there anything to see in Keukenhof during off months? thanks,
esta
Esta, It's only open for a few months during bloom season. It is my understanding that the only people who can go there during the off-season would be people there for meetings/conferences, etc. Try to go during flower season, as it is truly a lovely garden....one of the best I've seen (and I have visited many gardens). I could have spent an
entire day there, seriously. Also don't miss the huge flower auction, not too far from Amsterdam.
The Keukenhof is closed outside its season (7 weeks between March and May). The are south of Schiphol is interesting, you can even visit some flower greenhouses or the Aalsmeer auction house, but you can't enter the Keukenhof.
Outside of March-May the complex it closed to the public. Other times of the year it's used for private trade-shows.
Thank you all so much. Very helpful information. esta
