KD Rhine

Where can one buy a KD Rhine Pass in Frankfurt - does one have to buy it compulsorily online only? If not, then where can I buy it in Frankfurt?

A "KD Rhine Pass"? You mean a pass valid for any travel, hop on/off on the KD line? I don't think it exists. You can purchase individual tickets for a specific part of the Rhein at any KD ticket kiosk, but I have never heard of a "pass". A Eurail pass, which you can purchase online, can be used for on/off travel on the KD, but only if it is validated for rail travel that day, ie, using a day of the pass. KD does show a ticket outlet in Frankfurt, at Mainkai, 60311 Frankfurt.

You have probably found THIS WEBSITE offering the pass for 30€. This pass apparently is sold by a middle-man tour vendor. Here is the contact information at the above website: Site owned and managed by: TravelToe 92/74 Universitätsstraße, 9020 Klagenfurt Austria
641 Lancaster Ave #215, Frazer, PA USA I would advise instead that you purchase a regular ticket for your Rhine Cruise from the KD dock when you take your cruise. HERE is the real KD website. Why? The regular fare to cruise the most scenic part in one direction, from Bingen to St. Goar, costs 18.70€ and takes 1.5 hours. A longer cruise (2.3 hours) to Boppard costs 23.80€. If you are starting from Frankfurt, you must take a train to Bingen to begin your cruise. At the KD dock in Bingen, show your train ticket, and you will receive a 20% discount on the above fares - so figure 15€ or 19€ instead. With the 30€ pass, it is true that you could do a return trip by boat. However, you can do a return trip more cheaply at the full price (21.60€ for Bingen - St. Goar - Bingen, 25.20€ for Bingen - Boppard - Bingen.) Of course, with your train ticket to Bingen, you get a discount that lowers your cost to about 18€ for St. Goar or 20€ for Boppard. HERE are all the KD fares. So this "KD Rhine pass" looks to me like bait for under-informed tourists. (A standard round-trip train ticket from Frankfurt's main station to Bingen is 22€, by the way; there are cheaper options if you are traveling with more than one person.)

What they said, KAVITA. Also, you can just buy your ticket at the little booth next to the boat landings 10-15 minutes before the boat is scheduled to leave. Is the pass that Russ is talking about the same one you found?
