Just returned from Paris

Just wanted to share I had such an amazing time and thank you to anyone who may have answered any question I previously posted. I arrived on a Thursday morning left late tuesday night.
I stay at a budget hotel in th 6th called the residence du palais, it was 50 euro a nite. small room but clean across the street from jardin du luxembourg and all along the street (rue de vauvin) were several great cafes, chocolate shops, patisseries and boulangeries and a great little creperie owned by a really nice guy. I traveled alone and speak french decently so i had no problems communicating. This was also my 2nd trip to Paris. Used the metro all the time & to/fro Versaille and CDG.
Did the 4 day paris museum pass. Went to rue cler, wasn't too impressed with it, seemed like a street you could find anywhere in paris. I did so much Army Museum, Rodin Museum, Concierge, Sainte Chapelle, Sainte Sulpice, Sacre Coeur, Pere La Chaise, Centre Pompidou, L'Orangerie, did a brieft stop at the Lourve and D'Orsay. I went to the Opera Garnier and I loved it, I wish I had know that tickets to a show, the cheap seats were 7 euros, the entrance fee is 8. I also spent the day at Versaille- well I got there around 9 left at 2. It was very cold while I was there and didn't find it was worth the walk to the Grand trianon and Domaine de Marie Antionette, the palace and gardens were great though. I got lost several times in Pere La Chaise cemetary trying to use Rick's way. It was early on a Sunday morning when I was there, it was very cold and there was nobody around, minus the graves... I also got my nite time view of Paris from the Arch de Triomphe
The people in Paris were so nice. I didn't have any bad experiences or encounter any rudeness. great trip would defintely reccmmend the residence and the area I stayed in. If anyone has any questions I hope I can be of help, as people were of help to me.

I am heading to Paris for 9 days next week. I have been before and went to the Louvre, Opera, Notre Dame, Sacre Couer, Sainte Chapelle, and Versaille.

Is the Pere La Chaise worth a look?

Yes Pere La Chase is worth a look at. I would have stayed longer and wouldn't have minded being lost if it wasn't so cold.
I'd like to start saving for a trip to germany in a few years, or go to Italy again.

Nice to read your trip report, glad you had a great time.. I am sure the grounds etc. are a little harder to appriciate when it is very cold or wet out, but you did manage to see such alot in what, about 5 days, good for you.

Germany is a lovely country to visit also.. I would like to go back there myself one day, but I know I will avoid a winter visit there for sure!

Regarding Paul's question...most everyone gets lost in PereLaChaise...I've been several times, starting at Gambetta as RS suggests, but on the last visit got turned around and couldn't find my exit and arrived barely in time for lunch at the mother in law's a few blocks away. Winter , however, is not my favorite season to lose my way there. Today is bright gray, and still below freezing.
I agree with Kerri's suggestion of the L'Arc de Triomphe for the night view of Paris, especially with the lights on the Champs Elysées.
