Just returned from Otztal Valley in the Tirols

My husband and I just returned from spending 13 nights in Oetz, in the Otztal. This north/south valley is off the Inn River between Innsbruck and St. Anton am Arlberg. It is not as highly "touristed" as many of the areas (a plus for us), but there are still lots of amenities. We had a fabulous time hiking, exploring the many glaciers, beautiful towns, and surrounding valleys. It is a narrow valley that extends to the Italian border. One of many "draws" to the valley is that "Otzi-man", the frozen Neolithic man, was discovered in the glaciers at the head of this valley, and the amazing Timmelsjoch road (toll required) that connects Italy and Austria. You can also ski year round on two glaciers that are located above Soelden. I would highly recommend visiting this area for either skiing, hiking and enjoying the Tirolian culture.
