Just got back from France

I recently got back from my second trip to France. This time I spent 4 days in Normandy and a week in Paris. Let me just say, Normandy is amazing.

I stayed in Bayeux and absolutely loved it. The people there were extremely friendly and the food was great. The creme brulee at Le Pommier was the best I have had yet in France, and the Fisherman's Pot at La Rapiere was my favorite meal from the whole trip.

Also, I am a huge history buff so I went on two Battlebus tours. Probably the best tours I have ever taken. The guides were incredible.

Thank you again Rick Steves and everyone on the boards for making this trip great. If I could have missed my plane and stayed in Europe I would have.

Glad to hear you had a great time in Bayeux. What a lovely little town to stroll around in. May we add you to the list of devoted Battlebus fans? :-))

I took a similar trip in the fall and loved it too. What Battlebus tours did you take? We took the American Highlights and Band of Brothers. They were fantastic.

Kyle,

Glad to hear that you had such a fantastic time in France, especially the Normandy portion.

I also like Bayeux and I definitely agree that the food at Le Pommier is superb.

I've also travelled with Dale on tours, so can appreciate why you enjoyed them so much. Did you stop at the small Church at Angoville Au Plain, where the two Medics from the 101st distinguished themselves so well? I assume Pvt. Steele is still hanging on the Church in St. Mere Eglise?

Cheers!

We had Dale for our Band of Brothers Tour and thought he was fantastic too. I'd go back to Normandy in a heart beat and would take another Battlebus Tour.

Yes, we stopped at that church and I am so glad we did. And I thought it was really cool that one of the medics still comes and stays at the village every year.
