Good afternoon, We just got back from a great trip to London, Bruges, Delft, Ettelbruck (Luxembourg) and Paris. Used trains, Eurostar, inter-city rail and TGV except had rental car in Luxembourg. Had a wonderful time in every city and in the Ardennes area of Belgium and Luxembourg. Highly recommend visiting Oxford as a day-trip. Kids will enjoy Natural History Museum there as well as Christ Church College. Wish we would have had an extra day in Bruges to go to the coast and/or ride bikes to Damme. Brewery tour, canal boat tour and beguinage were very interesting. Had a long day train ride to Delft due to accident at Rotterdam Station. Spent two extra hours via Utrecht to Den Haag then finally to Delft. The town is so cute with it's many canals and the Delft Porcelain Factory. stayed at RS recommended Hotel d'Emauspoort in one of the gypsy caravan. The priciest of hotels/B&B, but exquisite breakfast and location made the stay good value. The Ardenes region of Belgium and Lux. Is spectacular. One scenic view after another as we drove to Bastogne, Noville, Foy, Houffalize and Ettelbruck countryside. Don't miss Houffalize, a beautiful village in a valley not far from Bastogne. We took RS advice to stay at Hotel Dahm. Very good value for a 4 star hotel. Paris was lovely. Our second visit while staying in a studio apt. Near Place St. Michel. Nice area close to many of the museums and very crowded. Rue Cler would be our choice again if we get the chance to return. Thanks to many of you that answered questions we had prior to the trip. Have to get started planning the next one. Dave Paris was
Thanks for the great report, Dave. We were in the same Luxembourg area at about the same time. We were very impressed by the Musée Historique al Brauerie Dikirch - the Battle of Luxemboug and Ardennes. The English audioguide is excellent and comprehensive. A definite 11 out of 10 museum. Thanks for reminding me.
