I thought I'd share this with those who might be interested. I just finished the autobiographical trilogy of books by Jamie Ivey about he and his wife selling wine in Provence. Book one is called Extremely Pale Rosé, and tells the tale of the couple accepting a bet from a French woman to find a paler rosé in France than she makes. The stakes are high. The second, La Vie en Rosé is about their attempts to open a Rosé bar in Provence. And the final is called Rosé en Marché, about trying to sell their wines at Provencal markets.
The Iveys are English and I wondered if the books were going to be the same old story of English people trying to make the move to France. The books were much more than that, and not at all pretentious. I enjoyed the first two more than the last, mainly due to the more frequent presence of their friend Peter Tate -- Peter if you are out there reading this, you are marvellous!
Let me know if any of you have read the books and if so what you thought of them.
