Does this seem too cheap or am I missing something? I thought just hotel would run CHF300...

Have you priced the Eiger (in Murren, not Grimelwald as the offer states) without the package? September and October are between the two main tourist seasons, which could account for the price. The only glitch I can see is if you book this non-refundable dated ticket but that particular day the Jungfrau has bad weather, fog, etc.
Sounds enticing, but no matter what season it is you're going you never never never want to prebook a nonrefundable ticket to the Jungfrau because the current weather at your prebooked time could be full sunshine or thick clouds or drenching rains, etc. Just choose a nice hotel or B&B that suits you and most DEFINITELY spend more than 1 night. And the Hotel Eiger is in Grindelwald...not Grimelwald (there is no such place).
Craig , it certainly seems " too good to be true " Even given the time of year , the rail journey would be 150 CHF ( with the discount on a swiss pass ) so it seems that the hotel would then be free. Perhaps the hotel cut a deal with the Jungfrau bahn , business can work in strange ways . You could confirm the validity by calling the hotel or the rail company , which I would do . The only obvious snag I see here works as such : The weather in regions like the Oberland is highly unpredictable , it can change momentarily . This deal requires you to commit to a specific day . If the weather is lousy ,you get skunked! Rick generally advises you to allow for several days in regions like this so you have a better chance for a good day and can optimize your time . As an example , we were in Chamonix last fall and planned to take the Montenvers cog to The Mer De Glace . We were there for 3 days and had a great time , but only one day was suitable for the rail trip . Keep this in mind , In any event , have a grat time , Steve
Don't listen to me, I'm mixing up Gimmelwald below Murren and this place. But, agreed absolutely that you're taking a chance with this dated ticket.
Hotel Eiger is in Grindelwald. As previous poster points out, it might be a bad weather day and you have to lock in advance. I don't know what is so special about the Eiger Hotel. Trip is nominally 340 chf for 2 roundtrip. I certainly would not call it "Too good to be true." There is also a 3 day special for 225 chf 3 days unlimited travel in the region with one trip up to the Jungfraujoch. See "Jungfrau Centenary Pass", ends Oct 21.
Right now, midseason, the cheapest double rooms at Hotel Eiger go for 320 to 370CHF. Add the 340 CHF for two Jungfrau tickets and you have minimum value of 620 CHF for 300 with the special deal. Not bad.
yes... forgot about the weather... bummer...
Sam, if i have the swiss pass, travelling in the region except for the part up to Jungfrau would already be free right?
I believe you get a 25% discount. I'm not sure. Input that info in the booking page at Jungfraubahn. It will automatically adjust the purchase price for your SwissPass.
25% discount with a Swiss Pass is only a partial and misleading answer. I think Sam is confuing Swiss Pass with a " Eurail" or multi -country pass. Travel in the region is FREE with a Swiss Pass on covered days, up as far as the villages, Wengen going up Jungfrau and Murren going up the Schilthorn. Beyond the village the Jungfrau trip is covered 25% and the Schilthorn is 50%.
Actually the Half Fare Card will get you a bigger discount than the Swiss Pass on the Jungfrau portion.
