June temps in southern France

Trying to decide on a few possible trips depending on the weather. We are looking at the Eastern France trip and would need to go on the 16 June through 29 June tour. Would the weather in the southern region, the stops south of Annecy and into Vaison la Romaine and Marseille, be to warm to make a comfortable trip this time of year? Would this be a better trip to do another year earlier in the spring such as mid May? Would the 16 day Eastern Europe tour have cooler temps this time of year in the southern portions of that tour making it a better choice?

While it would be better in mid-May, no way would it be too warm in June. July and August would be a different story.

Hi Don, I can't speak about June in the South of France but I did spend 10 days going from Monaco to Cannes in early July 2012. The temp was consistently in the low to mid 80's but the PR folks forgot to tell us about the HUMIDITY. Off the chart! I would never make that trip again. Not in July. May/September are much better choices. Be certain you have AC in your hotel. Have a fun trip.

We went last year in early May and it was really hot, unseasonably so. Still it was a great trip and there is no guarantee on the weather. You can check weather sites for average temps but that is only the average and then you take your chances. I make sure to get rooms with AC and dress accordingly.

Well, Catherine, it seems like Provence is almost as cold as my home state of Maine. No, wait, your figures are centigrade. Never mind.
