Do I need to be concerned about renting a room in July without AC? Was thinking of going out of town (Haus am Moos for instance) but I am concerned about the heat. Any info appreciated....

weather.com has average temps by month, input a larger town or city that's close and then look for button saying "averages" or "month"

Can't think of any place in summery Austria(apart of Vienna) where air conditioning is necessary. Yes, sometimes there are hot days, but we Austrians have ways of keeping cool - like windows that open (no worry about burglars in most places), old houses that stubbornly refuse to give up the cold, and there always is cold beer!
Vienna lies already in the Pannonian Plain, and with all the humidity and built-up impervious surfaces, it can really suffer in a scorcher.
Think Vermont: Summer is for Lederhosen and rolled-up shirtsleeves, so enjoy!
