Jules Verne-worth the $$$ or not

We are debating over having lunch at JV on our trip to Paris. Has anyone dined there recently and can comment on it? It appears that the lunch menu is 70 euros pp and with wine the lunch would cost around $200( quite a sum for lunch). There have been some negative reviews but supposedly things are improved with Alain Ducasse heading up the kitchen.

We had lunch in Sept, 2010 celebrating Mom's and aunt's 86th and 84th birthdays. Food was fabulous including taste, variety, presentation. For 4 of us our bill was around $600 US with wine, etc. This is an event lunch. Not an everyday kind of meal. We all feel it was well worth it. Many others will tell you to save your money and eat where the locals eat. I totally agree normally, but this was a special occasion and well worth the $$. Was it the best meal I've ever had in France? No. Was it ranked in the top 10? Yes.

It's been twenty-five years since we had lunch there and we still remember it! So, it's worth it just for the experience, assuming you can snag a table near the window!
