flex dates to find the best fare within 3 days AND do multi-city? Kayak can't and I haven't found one that can. Thanks

Have you tried Hipmunk.com? They do multi-city and they do flex dates, but not at the same time. However, you can have multiple searches going at the same time.

Kris, I was also going to suggest Hipmunk. You could also try some of the airline websites, as they can often do searches within a range. Cheers!

I've recently begun using http://matrix.itasoftware.com/ Its calender shows the lowest available prices day by day for itineraries. For example, for LA-Munich-LA, flights in Jan/Feb, 2013 prices are generally $900-$1000. One day, the fare is $750. When flights are expensive, someetimes you've got to suck it up and pay it. Then you have to make up being frugal on other expenses after you get there. Summer, 2013 is looking to be a very, very expensive time to fly.

Thanks all, making these decisions are stressin' me out!
Also, I need to make my apartment and hotel reservations ahead of time so I need to just fly when I can, I guess. I just don't know how long to wait to make my flight reservations now that I have my lodging dates reserved. Is 3-4 months ahead of time reasonable to make the reservations to fly or do flights change price often?
