Is it reasonable to tour from Haarlem-Paris through Mosel Valley in 2 days?

Hi

My husband, daughter(11) and I are spending two weeks in Europe this summer. We have a car and are leaving Haarlem on the morning of August 18, and have to catch a flight out of Paris (CDG) at 12:00 noon on August 20. So, we have two "open" nights. Is it a reasonable path to go from Haarlem, through the Mosel Valley and back to Paris in this time frame? If so, can someone suggest logical overnight stops?

If not, anyone have good ideas for an alternative route? We are staying in Bruges on our way to the Netherlands, so I am looking for an alternative.

Thanks!

Of course it's possible, but you'd spend a long time in the car watching Europe out the window (perhaps 800+km). The Mosel is beautiful, but you wouldn't have the time to enjoy much of it. I suggest taking a more direct route and seeing more of the Netherlands, Belgium or France. Depending on your interests - there are plenty of lovely cities, interesting museums, WWII sites, beaches, charming towns, etc. between Haarlem and Paris. Explore this website to see what sounds interesting to your family.

It is too far in my opinion . you can use www.viamichelin.com for the mileage. have you considered Brugge or stoping at Mont St Michel instead? They are stunningly beautiful. Lv the mosel valley for another trip. I was there in Aug 2007 and can recom min 2nites in Mosel Area.

Thanks Everyone

Since I posted, I have been looking at the mileages and agree that it would be too much driving to make it worthwhile. Perhaps another time!

Thanks for your help!
