We just spent 3 weeks in Ireland, and stayed 8 nites in Rick Steves suggested lodgings. All but one was wonderful.
We heartily recommend Hawthorne House in Kenmare, and Anvershiel in Portrush. Wonderful places, with terrific people to deal with and great breakfasts.
Erna at Anvershiel even took our laundry to her laundry place, after finding that the Rick Steves suggested laundry had closed. She did this while we toured the Giant's Causeway and Bushmill's distillery. Great experiences with lodgings by Rick Steves. Thanks
