Ireland then....??

I am planning to visit a friend in Ireland and then would like to travel for about 10 days. Since we have both traveled a bit in Ireland we are looking for somewhere else. Does anyone have a suggested itinerary - perhaps Spain, UK, France, etc from Dublin?

A few summers ago we flew from Dublin to Paris, spent a few days in Paris, a few days in Bayeux, and then took a night train to Barcelona for a few days. This was our honeymoon and we had a blast. Where are you flying out of?

your question prompts about 10 other questions! what are you looking for....culture, nightlife, shopping, beach, etc. so without knowing those things.....my suggestion is to go to ryan air website and see all the places they fly from dublin. perhaps a cheap flight to somewhere you wouldn't have necessarily considered, may end up being the deciding factor! but even just looking at the list will give you lots of ideas. but if you really a more concrete suggestion then portugal. my favorite country. cruise the dourno and do some wine tasting up north, enjoy the sites of lisbon, head to the very south for some sunshine in the algarve. happy travels!

Check out the RyanAir (and others) route maps and see where they fly. A few years ago we flew between Pisa and Dublin for a cheap price. I'm sure other deals exist, so mine them and see what strikes your fancy.

I'd check Aer Lingus flights first before RyanAir. They fly directly into major hubs vs. some of the RyanAir airports. For example, if you choose to fly to Paris from Dublin, definitely take Aer Lingus so you can fly straight into CDG airport and not be landing an hour outside of Paris. Aer Lingus also has some very good internet deals if you book far enough in advance. If you don't want to fly and you haven't seen the UK at all, you could also take the ferry to Wales and then work your way over towards London or even up to Edinburgh. And if you have not booked your international airfare yet, make sure you fly open jaw so you don't need to waste time backtracking to Dublin just to fly back to the U.S.
