We are taking train along this route , pls suggest somewhere to stop/stay along the way that would be interesting and fun to visit.

Look at the map and pick a town; they are all about the same in that area. Nothing of importance that I know of.
For me, most interesting places are cable cars up the mountain in the Alps south of Interlaken.
Do a google search for "sights" in Grindelwald, Murren and Montana.
