Yes. Most likely you would take the direct train from Luzern to Interlaken which goes along Lake Brienz. This is very scenic. Whether you are going to/from Interlaken it is the same view. However, there are some train connections from Luzern to Interlaken (and return trip) that connect through Spiez. These would go along Lake Thun. My advice would be to take the direct route with no transfers and enjoy the view.

Er, going through Spiez is going the wrong way. The train from INterlaken Ost to Lucerne is a direct train on the Golden Pass scenic route. sit on the righthand side as you go along the lake (Brienz). Then if you can, switch to the other side as you go over the pas to see the waterfalls, etc. If you ride the regular regional train the seats are not reserved, but if th ecar is crowded you won't be able to move around a lot so just sit on the right side.

I've never been to Singapore so I don't know what the trains there are like, but in Switzerland train carriages have two sides. One side will see views to the left of the direction of travel, the one on the other side will see views to the right side in the direction of travel. If you sit on one side going to Interlaken and look out that side without looking out the other side, although I can conceive of no reason to do that, you will see one set of views. What you see will change as the train moves. When you return to Luzern you will either see the same things as before, from a different angle of course, or you you will see what is out the other side. Again assuming you fix your head position and don't look out the other side. Everything you see on the reverse trip will be in the reverse order, so Brienzersee, Brienz, Meiringen, Brienzersee, waterfalls, Brunig Pass, alpine lakes, Mt Titlis, and then Luzern instead of Luzern, Mt Titlis, alpine lakes, Brunig Pass, waterfalls, Brienzersee, Meiringen, Brienz, Brienzersee, Interlaken.

Does taking the train from Interlaken OST or Interlaken West make a difference?

Yes, they are at opposite ends of town. If your destination, arriving at Interlaken, is a hotel in Interlaken you need to check with the hotel which station it is closer to. All trains arriving at Interlaken West first, that is those standard gauge trains coming via Spiez and Bern, call at both Interlaken West and Interlaken Ost. All narrow gauge trains end or begin their journeys in Interlaken Ost and do not call at Interlaken West. These include the trains to Luzern over the Brunig Pass, sometimes called the Golden Pass, and trains up the Lauterbrunnen Valley to Lauterbrunnen, Wengen, Junfraujoch, Wengen, Muerren, Grindlewald, Gimmelwald etc. Does that help? EDIT: I see you capitalize OST. Ost is German for east. Interlaken Ost is at the east end of town near the Brienzersee (Lake Brienz) and Interlaken West is at the west end of town near the Thunersee (Lake Thun) canal.
