We are traveling by car from Interlaken to Fussen. Has anyone driven this trip and approx how long will it take and what route do you recommend?
I've driven in the opposite direction. Not including the stop-over for lunch in Lindau, and subtracting my mistake of driving through rather than around Zurich, I would expect around 6 hours.
We drove from Munich to Zurich, which is about the same distance, I think. It took us about 5-6 hours.
Mapquest/Google will take you through Zurich-Memmington which is the fastest. Just half an hour longer is past Liechtenstein and up the Fern Pass. There's lots of tunnels, but it's a beautiful drive through the Alps as opposed to typical countryside on the Germany side. We just drove from Imst, Austria through Bregenz, northward to our destination today. It is stunningly beautiful and moved along well.
