My husband and I are struggling to find reasonably priced accommodations in Interlaken, Switzerland from May 25th--29th. Do any of you have some good recommendations, preferably with parking included?
When in Interlaken, I stay here: http://www.lotschberg.ch/pages/english/hotel-loetschberg.php

Betsy, my husband and I have a two person bedroom reserved at the Alpenhof in Stechelberg in May for two nights. It's listed in the RS Switzerland book. Most of what we want to see in the area is nearby, and though they are basic accommodations the price is right, and the owners have been very accommodating in the reservation process. Looking forward to it!
Looking at www.venere.com and www.tripadvisor.com, there are 28 hotels and 41 B&Bs in Interlaken. You won't find much under $150/night althrough there are a few. Many are at least $190 and above. If you really want to see the alps on steroids, skip Interlaken and take the short drive or train into Lauterbrunnen or Stechelberg. Stechelberg is deeper into the valley. There is a large public parking lot there as well. Not sure about the hotels. The best value in Lauterbrunnen could be the Hotel Staubach at around $140/night. We like the Hotel Silberhorn better at $190/night. The Hotel Silberhorn does have parking. You might also look into Gimmelwald or Murren. No tourist cars permitted by you can park your car in the Stechelberg parking lot and take the cable ways up to the villages. The parking lot is adjacent to the cable way station. Two great things about being in the area at this time of year. 1) you get to see the farmers walking their cows with their musical bells up to higher pastures. 2) the wildflowers are in bloom in the alps. Been there seen it. It's so colorful.
Betsy, As the others have suggested, you'll have more success finding "reasonably priced accommodations" in the Lauterbrunnen Valley, either in Lauterbrunnen, Stechelberg, Murren or Gimmelwald. The Guidebook has lots of information on those. Interlaken tends to be somewhat "pricey" so the cheapest lodgings there will be the Hostel (CH$28.50 per night, per person). The Hostel has some private rooms and has free Parking available a short walk away, and pay-parking available across the street. Happy travels!
I've seen Chalet Fontana in Mürren described as the best bargain in the Alps. The Sports Center in Mürren is also very very reasonable. Get up into the villages and out of Interlaken for a true Swiss Alpine experience that you won't soon forget: http://www.ferntree.ch/chalet/fontana_summer.htm http://www.muerren.ch/sportzentrum/seiten-e/frame-e.htm
Agree with others to not stay in Interlaken. Stechelberg or Murren or even Gimmelwald would be better choices. We prefer Wengen-wonderful views and access to great hikes. IMO that is what Switzerland is all about. Love waking up to bells of grazing sheep, goats, and cows. Once upon a time I suppose Interlaken was charming but some of the commercial area now definitely not appealing-porn shops, etc. Lauterbrunen may be another option as they have parking available.
It's been close to 10 years, but when I was there, I stayed at Balmer's and had a great time. I believe it's a hostel, but they may have a few double rooms. It'd be worth looking into.
Thank you for the many helpful suggestions. We will definitely check out Lauterbrunnen, Stechelberg, Gimmelwald, Murren, and the recommended sites.
You might also try the Hotel Alpina in Kandersteg.
