Interlaken-Schilthorn

My wife and I will be arriving at Interlaken Ost around 11:00 am and departing 18:00-19:00 pm for Luzern. Is it possible to make the trip to Lauterbrunnen-Grutschlap-Mürren-Schiltorn and back to Interlaken in 7-8 hours--in a way that approaches a "relaxed" journey? If 7-8 hours is inadequate, what alternative could be done in this time frame? Also what are the fares for the various modes of travel (does a Germany-Switzerland Pass provide any discount), are reservations required for early May?

The journey from Interlaken Ost to the top of the Schilthorn via Mürren takes 1 hour 22 minutes. There are 2 departures per hour from Interlaken that make the connections. Check the Swiss train website www.rail.ch for exact schedules. The RT fare from Interlaken Ost to Mürren is 35.20 CHF; your pass shoul dgive you 25% off this. The RT fare from Mürren to the top of the Schilthorn is normally 74 CHF; with any type of Eurail pass this is reduced to 55.60 CHF. This is according to the Schilthorn website, www.schilthorn.ch You do not need reservations.
