Hi, Hoping someone will give me a great recommendation for a nice restaurant in Innsbruck for dinner, and a great place for lunch in Salzburg. I love to hear from people who have been and loved a yummy place. Also,any specific things that are MUST see and do's at Octoberfest. We are going on 9/23 and have reservations in one of the bigger tents for dinner, but wondering if anyone has any must sees. I appreciate any feedback.

I went to the University of Innsbruck, and my favorite restaurant was the Innrain Cafe @ Innrain 38. Most afternoons were spent in their outside beer garden with an incredible mountain view. It's a small authentic Austrian restaurant, the kind with a German Shepard sleeping inside the front door. Not fancy, but just good, solid good. Every time my wife and I return, we end up eating most meals there.
They also have a couple of inexpensive sleeping rooms upstairs.

A good place for a meal in Salzburg is the Stieglbräu, near the Hbf. I had a great dinner there years ago. I also had lunch in a place in the old town, with a well in the lobby, but I can't remember the name of the place.
