My husband and I will have 2.5 days in Innsbruck, in June (train tickets bought). We arrive from Venice around 2:30pm and plan on touring the old town and staying the night in the city. We would like to rent a car and do side-trips for the last two days. A RS forum user suggested we drive to Zell Am See, do the Grossglockner highway, and see Lientz for one of those days. We like that idea, and will likely do it. We're looking for ideas to fill the other day. We both are young, in decent shape, and like to hike---anyone have any suggestions for short 2-4hr day hikes? Anyone have any suggestions for an alternate itinerary for the two full days in the Innsbruck area? We haven't booked any lodging or car rentals for the area yet, so we're flexible in that regard.
