Hello, We're hoping to take a train to Innsbruck May 20th, as it's a Sunday it looks like we need to rent from from the airport. We would return the rental car and leave early May 25th to catch a train to Frankfurt for our flight home. We'd rather take the train to Frankfurt then fly so we can see more. During this time we want a rental car to tour around smaller towns and areas of Tyrol. To do this it looks like we'd need to drop our rental car off in Innsbruck early (6:30 am or so) to catch an early train. The car rental agencies don't appear to be open before 7:30 am. Some do have an early key drop off. Is dropping the car off without the rental agency signing off on any car damage a risk? Is there anywhere else or any particular rental agency in Innsbruck open earlier? Thanks Donna
Hi Donna, Where are you coming from to get to Innsbruck? I wouldn't want to drop the car unless the agency was open to have the car checked and get a reciept stating all is in order. Just a thought... You could rent the car in Garmisch, Germany by the train station there. I say this as renting in Germany is usually cheaper than in Austria. Garmisch is about an hour by train from Innsbruck. Maybe the agency there will be open by the time you need to catch your train from Garmisch to Frankfurt. I'd call Andy Bestor at www.gemut.com (800-521-6722) and ask some questions and get prices from both Innsbruck and Garmisch. Paul
